Sampling groups configuration fields
The configuration fields for the DataLogger sampling groups are listed below.
Group general data
|
Name |
Specifies the name of the group. You must specify a unique name. |
|
Enabled |
If selected, enables the sampling group. Note: the disabled groups are highlighted in the list with a red LED, those enabled with a green LED. |
Activation type
It allows to define the sampling mode of the measurements.
|
activation type |
Specifies how sampling should be (continuously, according to a trigger signal, or at specific times). For more information refer to the section "Activation Types." |
|
Period |
Specifies the sampling period. Only for the continuous activation types. Note: the period starts at 00.00 of the day and not at the time the module is activated. For example, if a period of 30 min. is specified, sampling is carried out at 00:00, 00:30, etc. |
|
Timetables |
Specifies the time bands within which to perform sampling. Only for Continuous Time activation type. |
|
Trigger |
Specifies the trigger Item and possibly the Sampling Confirmation Item executed. Both items manage the inversion function.
|
|
Enable Item |
Specifies the enabling item, which allows to dynamically enable or disable the group sampling status. The item manages the inversion function. |
Archive tab
Specifies how to record samples on files.
|
Enable logging |
Enables recording of sampled data on disk. |
|
File |
Specifies the configuration parameters of the group historical file. The group is not available if sampling was selected in ODBC format. |
|
Path |
Specifies the recording path of the data file. If fulfilled, the specified absolute path is assumed. If not fulfilled (default) the data will be recorded in the default path within the project, according to the set recording format:
Note:if the specified path is not existing, it is automatically created by the system at the first sampling. Note: The field is not available if the ODBC format is selected: Data logging via ODBC uses the path to the database file specified for the ODBC connection. |
|
Duration |
Specifies the duration of the data file (daily, monthly, yearly, unlimited or customized). For further information, refer to the paragraph "Selecting the duration of the data file". |
|
Template |
Specifies the format of the file name. The field is enabled only if the duration of Unlimited type or Template has been selected. For further information, refer to the paragraph "Customizing the name and duration of the historical archive". |
|
BackUp |
Specifies the number of data files to keep in the archive: for example, if the data file is of annual duration and you have configured copies number of backup copies 2, the system keeps the file of the current year and the previous two years in the archive.
|
|
Format |
Specifies the data file format. Menu options are:
|
|
Separator |
Specify the column divider in the case of data in ASCII format recording. |
|
Header |
If selected, when the new historical file is created, the system records a header containing the name, the field code and the description of the sampled Items. |
|
(ODBC Configuration button) |
Allows access to the configuration window for selecting the ODBC connection. For further information, refer to the appendix "Registering ODBC Data" of this guide. |
Sampled item tab
Specifies the items to be sampled in the group. It is possible to insert, modify or delete the items in the list using the commands below the list. For further information, refer to the paragraph "Managing the list of items to be sampled".
Note:the sampling order of the items (and therefore the order of registration of the values in the historical files) corresponds to the list display order. To change the order use the arrow buttons on the right of the list.
Dynamic data tab
It allows to manage a circular buffer in memory where to record the values of the sampled Items. The dynamic data are used for the realization of the X Vision Dynamic Trends. Only for continuous / continuous circular activation
.
|
Enable |
If selected, enables the dynamic data management. |
|
Duration |
Specifies the depth of the circular buffer in the format hhh: mm: ss.
