Remote Alarms
X Vision is equipped with an integrated subsystem monitoring and alarm notification, which will handle the automatic sending of system alarms to relevant staff using different media transmission
The configuration of the alarm remoting system is very simple and allows considerable flexibility.
For each of the users of X Vision (see chapter "Security management") it is possible to enable one or more transmission media, which will be used for alarm notification, and to specify the addressing data (telephone number, e-mail address) .
The association between alarm and message recipients is carried out by groups of operators. It is possible to define a virtually unlimited number of groups of operators, each assigned to particular tasks (e.g. electromechanical maintenance technicians, computer system technicians, fire fighting team, etc.) and therefore relating to certain categories of alarms. Each group can be associated with users defined at User Management level, and each user can be associated with multiple groups.
Each alarm definition specifies the name of the monitored (analogic or digital) item and the conditions in which the alarm should be generated, relative to its status. It also identifies the group of users to notify and allows you to select notification media. You can define multiple notifications related to the same item.
When an alarm occurs, the system identifies the recipients associated with it and immediately sends notifications to the operators using the configured transmission media.
All the operations carried out by the alarm remote control system are recorded in the System history log to facilitate tracing and debugging operations. These notifications can be assigned to any Signaling Group, as specified in the configuration window of the alarm management system (see Configuration of the alarm management system).
The basic steps for configuring the alarm remoting subsystem are:
- Definition of Users for notifications and configuration of the individual contact details: telephone, fax, phone, e-mail
- Definition of user groups: each group identifies a set of target users for the same alarm. Each user can belong to several groups.
- Definition of alarms: configuration of alarm conditions to be notified remotely, of the enabled notification devices and of the groups of users receiving the alerts
- Configuration of the media transmission drivers
