The start-up procedures described in this chapter illustrate the start-up of X-Vision for the development or execution of the supervision system on a single PC or on the computer acting as a server in an implementation that uses network support; they do not apply vice versa to any client stations, for which reference should be made to the chapter "Network stations".

The activation of the system is carried out by executing the appropriate System Start (X-Start) module, which presides over the activation of the basic system (instantiation of the Realtime database and the queues), the start of the system processes, the activation of the selected communication drivers and the launch of any custom configured applications.

To start the system, you must specify the project to be activated. Only one project can be activated at a time.

The system can be started by the Project Manager or by directly activating X-Start (XStart80.exe). In the first case, generally assumed for the development sessions, the selected project is started; in the second case, preferable to activate the system on the destination PC, where typically the choice between multiple projects is not required, X-Start must be activated specifying the project path to be activated. You can create a link to X-Start that includes the project path as a parameter, and optionally place it in the Auto Execution folder to automatically activate the Supervisor at the start of the computer.
